| PRICES We must have a 3 lb minimum on all orders. Any fiber underweight will be charged at the 3 lb rate. Worsted and heavier yarns - $15 per pound Sport weight and lighter yarns - $17 per pound. Please note that some fibers can not be spun lace or finger weights by our machine. If we can not, we will notify you prior to spinning. If you would like to send a sample of how you want your roving spun, we will try our best to match as closely as possible. Or we can simply pin draft your roving for $5/lb. |
| The Techy Stuff A length between 2 1/2 to at least 8 inches is ideal for fibers. The machinery can spin from about an inch to, maybe 14 inches or more. Give a general size of the yarn you want back however, because of the way most fiber is processed, it can be hard to control the size of the yarn. | The Spinning Process The Crew at Aunt Aggie's uses a pin drafter and a 24 head spinner to craft soft skeins of yarn. Typically, we receive clean roving from either the customer or a fiber processor of your choice then pin draft it to a nice, even thickness. This also puts the fibers in the same direction, making it easier to spin. Next, we feed the pin drafted roving into the nooks and crannies of our spinning frame and let the machine take over from there. We then put the spinning machine in reverse to ply the yarn together. After a few whirls on the plier, we skein it up and ship it back to you, the eager knitter or crocheter. |

| All yarn given back to the customer is 250 yard skeins, unless otherwise tagged. Also, we encourage the customer to hand wash their yarn in hot, soapy water and hang dry. It makes fluffier yarn. |
